The Bemisgeret story

Our little studio sits in the heart of Baka, in Jerusalem. Bemisgeret is a framing studio and art gallery, and we run it with a great deal of love. From the day we started learning the trade, it moved us more than we expected, and we were swept into a world of making things, of color, and of the people who come in and out of our studio...

Wood types for picture framing

At Bemisgeret we frame your pictures and other artwork in good-quality solid wood.

Frame moldings to choose from

The studio keeps a large catalog of moldings for framing your pictures and artwork. Bring in the piece you want framed and choose your molding from the samples, and we'll help you find the one that suits it.

  • Decorative moldings with patterns and grooves in different shapes
  • Gold, silver and colored finishes
  • Every width, from slim profiles to thick ones

Our specialty frames

We frame canvases and build frames made for them. The studio also offers several kinds of specialty frames that lift a piece well above an ordinary frame, for a living room, a bedroom, a lobby or an exhibition wall. Framed this way, a picture becomes the first thing you notice in the room.

Float frame

A frame in which the artwork seems to float. A dedicated wood frame leaves a gap around the painting. Note: this frame is made for paintings on canvas.

Canvas mounted on plexiglass

A canvas mounted on plexiglass, with the frame around the plexiglass, so the canvas seems to hang in mid-air.

Double-glass framing

This framing suits art made on paper, fabric or parchment. You can use regular glass or museum glass.

“I have nothing but good, warm words for this lovely couple and the outstanding service they give. Eti and Mouki put their whole hearts into it, and the service is professional and fairly priced. Their work leaves an impression and has a character all its own. The expert advice from Eti, who is a graphic designer, proves itself time after time. I recommend Mouki and Eti to anyone who wants to bring a touch of life and individuality into their home.”

Questions we get asked a lot

Where is the framing studio and when is it open?

The studio is at 29 Derech Beit Lehem in Baka, Jerusalem. We're open Sunday to Thursday from 9:30 am to 6 pm and Friday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. The studio phone is 02-6714005, and every other way to reach us is on the contact and directions page.

How much does picture framing cost in Jerusalem?

The price of framing depends on the size of the piece, the frame profile, the mat and the type of glazing. Our range is wide, from a simple wood frame up to a decorative, expensive one. You can get a quote at the studio, by phone or on WhatsApp, and the options themselves are explained on our custom framing page.

Can I come in without an appointment?

Yes, just come by during opening hours, Sunday to Thursday 9:30 am to 6 pm and Friday until 1:30 pm. Before a big job, like framing an exhibition or several pieces at once, call 02-6714005 first so we can set aside proper time for you.

What kinds of things can you frame?

We frame paintings on canvas, works on paper, prints and posters. People also bring us a jigsaw puzzle the family put together, a printed fabric or a child's drawing the parents are proud of. All our frames are wood. Besides standard framing you can choose float mounting, a box frame or framing between two panes of glass, and the details are on our picture and painting framing page.

Do you sell art too?

Yes. There's a gallery inside the studio that sells original Israeli art, with paintings by Esther Agasi Cohen, Adriana Nave and Merav Cohen Vanunu and lithographs by artists such as Nachum Gutman and Yosl Bergner. You can meet the artists who show in the gallery and read more about our art gallery.
